About
I am a PhD student in Computer Science at BITS Pilani, in work with Poonam Goyal and Navneet Goyal. My research sits at the intersection of information retrieval, retrieval-augmented generation, and applied ML, with a particular interest in systems that have to be both accurate and kind to the people who use them.
Before I came back to campus, I spent a few years as a software engineer in Bengaluru. I built payment and gaming backends at ShareChat, owned credit-card decisioning services at PowerUp Money (formerly UniCards), and this summer I interned as an Applied Scientist at Microsoft, working on Power Pages adoption and maker experience.
The through-line is the same: take a messy real-world problem, find the structure in it, and ship something that holds up in production. I still teach NLP, generative AI, and advanced algorithms, and I still contest-program when I can.
Dual degree first: B.E. Mechanical Engineering and M.Sc. Mathematics at BITS, then a turn into industry, then a PhD in CS. The math never really left.
